18¢ Prexie Postal History

The 18¢ value in the Presidential Series of 1938
(see Figure 1), hereinafter called the Prexies, depicts the 18th President of the United States (1869-1877), Ulysses S. Grant. William A. Roach designed the stamp based on a Franklin Simmonds statue of Grant located in the Rotunda of the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C.
