The Best of Stamp News Publishing (SNP)
Greetings!
Welcome to 2026, and what I hope will be a great year for you and for our hobby.
We start 2026 off where we left off in 2025, with a new series on the U.S. Postage Stamp, 1870-1900. Also carried over from December 2025 is the second and final part of Ashbrook’s informative article on Carrier Rates and Covers.
Then there’s Iraqi Kurdistan, skipped in our December issue, but finished this month. It’s studies like this, for a postal administration not recognized in the catalogues, that remind many of us of “those far away places…” that attracted us to this hobby.
For Fabulous Firsts, we go back to Norway 1854, and actually go beyond that to the 1924 Posthorn issues, a Fabulous First of their own.
Next, we bring back from January 2011, Part One of a 2-part World of Stamps article on Barcelona, by Geir Sør-Reime, with the balance and a colorful bonus article to follow next month.
Enjoy!
